Sensing biometric constants such as the iris pattern for mobile security or heart rate for fitness tracking is already in your pocket. Such devices require to manipulate light’s properties at the nanoscale. The project will apply state-of-the-art modeling and fabrication techniques to push the limits of environmental biometric sensing. You will be based at our research and development center in Munich.
o Bachelor of Physics or related subjects
o Interest in state-of-the-art optics and nanotechnologies
o Strong, proven theoretical and experimental skills
o Knowledge of Fourier optics and wave optics
o Fluency in English
o Familiarity with numerical and/or symbolical computation programs (Wolfram Mathematica, Matlab etc.)
o Familiarity with raytracing software (OpticStudio, LightTools etc.)
o Experience with working on an optical table
